Aren't all caulks the same? Absolutely not. There are caulks and then there are sealants and in the world of sealants, 100% solid products, eco-friendly products are the ultimate. Many installers use products which contain solvents and some packages even say the product contains ingredients that have been found to be carcinogenic. A great installation or window is only great if a great sealant is used and the products we use are not only the best sealants but are also highly effective adhesives, so they will not let go once cured. And all insulating foams are not the same either. The foam we use is among the lowest VOC content products available and it's insulating specifications are among the highest in the industry.
Isn't it easy to just smear on some store-bought caulk and spray some foam? Aren't all installers about the same? Absolutely not. preparing to reseal is a process in itself and the proper application of sealant and foam makes all the difference in the world. Even the tools used for sealant and foam application are hugely important to the integrity of the installation and we provide our installers with the right tool for the job. We do not allow them to run to the local home improvement store and buy the "on sale" caulk and the cheap caulking gun.
